Corningware French White 2-1/2 -quart oval dish August 24, 2010 C. Frana I had a set of Corningware French White and I broke the 2-1/2 quart oval casserole dish. I was so happy to find just the dish available to purchase by itself for an extremely good price. It is exactly what I wanted. I am extremely happy with my purchase.
Never assume... April 22, 2010 R. Blease As the other reviews stated, this is not what CorningWare French White used to be. I bought this to replace a piece we broke and when you put the old and new next to each other - what a difference. The lack of finish and quality is dramatic. The flutes on the sides aren't even the same. For people who have never had the original it's fine I guess (if you don't mind having chinese made cookware in your kitchen - which I surely do; THAT wasn't in the description either.). I never used mine on top of the stove anyway, but I do under the broiler. I'll stick with my old CorningWare and Pyrex.
A can't do without item! April 8, 2010 Eugenia M. Peralta (California) It's amazing to be able to cook serve and store in something so attractive. Always looks nice when bringing something to a get together and are very easy to clean. When I use metal pans, they somehow get scratched, damaged or plain dull, but this porcelain like durable surface always shines. Definitely longer lasting than metal, more attractive and lighter than heavy glass. I have several in different sizes with the fantastic rubber lids for excellent tight seal storage. I will have these for a long time.
Essential February 26, 2010 M. Walker (Dillon, MT) Everyone needs a dish like this. My mother bought me one for Christmas several years ago. My toddler son "accidentally" broke it, and I put off buying a replacement for several months. When the replacement dish finally arrived, I had forgotten how wonderful it was. This dish plus a microwave is the best rice cooker in the world. I don't think you can find a better dish for the price.
Hurray February 14, 2010 D. Rauch I shattered a dish of this size and type. What a loss. I used it so often.
Couldn't find a replacement in the stores. Corning is making a different style and size now. Went to Amazon and there it was. Thanks a million. From Grateful in West Bend.
