5 out of 5 stars cooks delight   April 15, 2010

This meatloaf pan is the best thing ever invented! It is heavyduty and won't rust like the old ones. I love the handles, ever try to take a hot meatloaf pan out of the oven without sticking your oven mitt in the food? No problem with this one!

5 out of 5 stars Great meatloaf pan   February 17, 2010

Pan is heavy duty, non stick and clean up is a breeze. Meatloaf is cooked uniformly thru out and not greasy, since all fat and oils drop in bottom pan. Excellant quality piece of cookware.

5 out of 5 stars Great Invention   February 13, 2010

What a find! I used to make meatloaf in a Pyrex loaf pan, so it was always full of grease. Then for years I baked them on a broiler pan so the grease would run off. This pan lets you do both. It is a loaf pan with holes for the grease to drain off. I love it. I'm buying a second one for my personal chef cooking kit.

4 out of 5 stars keeps meatloaf on the menu   January 28, 2010
feedback (minneapolis)
My attempts to replicate the delicious meatloaf I had as a child have been met with repeatedly needing to drain fat drippings multiple times during cooking. This 2-piece meatloaf pan was spotted on Amazon awhile ago and I vowed to buy it if the price ever lowered, so to make meatloaf again yet without the hassle. This product largely eliminates the issue via its design. It is quite large, heavy, and sturdily constructed. That said it is nearly impossible to remove the inner lining/basket with potholders when hot, which an extended lip around the edge would better facilitate. Instead, two nylon turners were needed to surgically extract the cooked meatloaf from the pan onto a plate for serving. That said, the meatloaf recipe on the cardboard packaging was tasty and contributed to a good first experience when cooking with the pan. What would be helpful are some other uses besides meatloaf that may be suggested in the product information- how might the 2-piece pan be used? Is it possible to bake fish in it, for instance. Thus, perhaps an url to a company website with more information or ideas could demonstrate its versatility. It is a excellent pan and a good investment if you like meatloaf. As to whether it is suitable for banana bread or hamburgers or an upright Cornish hen remains unknown. It would be interesting to know its usefulness beyond cooking meatloaf, what it can do that other pans cannot (e.g. does the drip liner function in some way like a George Foreman grill, yet in the oven, and what does this allow or make possible?). For instance, if water is placed in the bottom pan and then both are covered with perforated tinfoil, is it possible to poach fish or steam vegetables? Such information would only give more justification for purchasing the product for its multiple uses, if indeed they exist. Until then a novice must cook/bake into the Unknown...

This is great! The grease drops below to the under pan. The pan is not heavy. I'm very happy with this purchase!
