5 out of 5 stars Great little rack!   June 26, 2010
Fog Flyer (Northern California)
First off I would like to say that this rack was not difficult to assemble as some reviews have said. It only has about 6 pieces and there was really nothing tricky to it at all. I had it assembled and on the wall in less than 1/2 hour.

This rack does seem a little overpriced, but it is very good quality and quite heavy duty. This fit perfectly in my kitchen pantry and is holding five frying pans and two strainers. Plus I have a pressure cooker and a couple of mixing bowls on the shelf. My wife is thrilled with it.

One thing I should mention is that it really takes two hands to take a frying pan off of it. You really need to hold the hook with one hand and slide the pan off with the other. Otherwise the hook will come off the rack when trying to slide the pan off. I suppose you could crimp the hook down a little more to help prevent this, but seeing as we hung ours at a height where it is easy enough to hold the hook, it is really not an issue.

Great little rack that freed up quite a bit of cupboard space!

3 out of 5 stars Nice Looking Pot Rack - Overpriced - Requires Two People to Assemble   February 24, 2010

The instruction set comes on a 11x17 double sided folded paper but the exploded view diagram of the product is the size of two postage stamps. and the drawings of the parts themselves require some of us to use a magnifier.

The parts are small, slick, and hard to hold on to. Do not try to assemble it without an helper that can stay focused on the project - wear shoes; you will drop one of the parts at least once.

It is best to use a square cornered table - not the dining room table unless it is covered with something to resist scratches.

My opinion on this product is that it is overpriced for what it is but, if the shelf frame came assembled (welded)
it would not add more than an inch to the depth of the mailer box and would remove 95% of the frustration and considerably to the personal relations of the company and possibly cut down on the returns.

I assemble items such as this on a regular basis and consider myself fairly good at it. On a scale of 1 to 10 on ease of assembly - I'll not order anything again from Enclume.

5 out of 5 stars Fits great in my kitchen.   February 9, 2010

Great pot rack. Holds 8 pots and pans with out any cramping. The shelf holds all my cookbooks and really helped give me more kitchen space. I did install it with my own toggle bolts. I am sure the ones that it came with would have been fine, but I just wanted to beef it up. I wasent hard to install. I did it in less than an hour. I am very happy with my choice.

4 out of 5 stars Book Shelf Pot Rack   February 5, 2010

I like this product, but the directions are a little iffy. It took me quite a while to figure out all of the pieces. I think that a photo of exactly how to mark the holes while holding the rack up and where the flex in the product should be. It was pretty hard to mark exactly even after I measured and doubled checked with the product itself. The rack moves without the back brace on and it is hard to get it just right. THen, one of the screws was in the plaster and the other screw was into a stud. That made it really interesting! Over all I like the product, but if you could somehow make the way to mark it better so that it is more exact, that would help single, intelligent, and well educated women get that part done correctly!

5 out of 5 stars Very Pleased   February 1, 2010

Delivered timely, sturdy, detailed instructions for assembly/mounting. It is really a 2 person job though to mount it so someone can hold it while you mark where it needs to go, etc.. I needed the potrack to hang over/behind my stove and this was perfect, it is large enough to do the job nicely but small enough not to be obstructive when cooking. It comes with 6 hooks that match the color of the unit and they are also sturdy. I was very pleased with the price and the quality and I put it in a rental house and I am not in the least worried about it holding up to the "abuse" that tenants are sometimes capable of. The way it mounts in the wall is very secure. I would defintely buy another one if I needed one and would purchase from the vendor again also.
