used a couple times June 13, 2010 Momma Molly (Boston, MA) This is a small roasting pan perfect for a chicken. It cleaned quickly & easily.
Not quite as good as they used to be March 26, 2010 Mr. R. C. Le Mottee I had 1 of these pans about 7 years ago - they are nice and rigid, so stay stable in the oven. They cook nice and evenly [baking] & the non-stick's not bad. The recent purchase I made for a friend, appears to have a much thinner non-stick coating which has a rougher feel to it. In my experience of non-stick, this will prove to be less effective while baking, however roasting should not be an issue. It may be that my original was made in a different factory/country or with a better grade of finish.
Just what you need October 2, 2009 Zack Davisson (Seattle, WA, USA) At my house, if it is going inside the oven chances are that pan is going to have the Chicago Metallic logo stamped on it. They just make really great baking ware at affordable prices.
This "Professional Roast 'N Broil Pan with Rack" is a perfect size for a two-person household. I wanted to get something functional that I could use with a number of dishes, rather than a single-purpose tool like the v-rack chicken roasters. So far I have roasted mainly fowl, a couple of ducks and some random chicken pieces, and everything has turned out perfectly.
I know some people have had some problem with the non-stick coating, but I am happy to report that everything has been great for me. Whenever I roast a duck I am sure to gather all the delicious duck fat on the bottom to roast some potatoes in later, and this "Roast 'N Broil Pan" makes collecting a snap. Even after quite a few uses my pan looks pretty much as clean as it did when it came out of the box. The rack itself is also non-stick, and cleans up just as easily.
So much for NONSTICK! September 29, 2009 greggt 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This pan, billed as non-stick and broiler safe, is neither apparently. I followed the packaging instructions and washed it before using. I used it to broil pork chops and when I pulled the pan from the oven, I found the meat drippings fossilized on the bottom of the pan.
I've been soaking it in water for 8 hours now, and the drippings are STILL stuck on the bottom. I also noticed that the nonstick surface is already scratched off the bottom of this pan.
I am not impressed. In fact, I'm deeply disappointed in this product.
Perfect for two August 25, 2009 R. Bernardez (BRANDON, FL United States) This roaster is the perfect size for two. It fits flat in the sink for a quick soak, cleans up easy, and does the job. It is sturdy, the rack is non-stick and has rigid handles to help you pull the roaster out of the oven. I am not sure you can de-glaze in the roaster and make gravy, but I wouldn't doubt you could do so. An excellent roaster for the price.
