Amazon.com Review Enhance your existing Chef's Classic set with this versatile, 12-inch everyday pan, or give it as a gift to someone whose kitchen space is limited. You can cook practically anything in this superb specialty piece. Simmer soup, fry chicken, stir-fry vegetables, cook pancakes, and even bake casseroles. The two loop-style, riveted stainless-steel handles make the shape more compact for fitting in an oven, and the domed glass lid conveniently lets you monitor what's cooking. Chef's Classic cookware handsomely serves at the table, too. Cuisinart constructs this pan of hard-anodized aluminum, which is even stronger than stainless steel, with an encapsulated pure aluminum core for quick, even heating. The interior features Cuisinart's Quantanium nonstick finish, a high-quality, long-lasting finish internally reinforced with titanium. Little oil or butter is needed when cooking on this ultra-smooth surface, and low to medium heat is recommended, along with non-metal utensils. The piece is oven-safe to 500 degrees F and should be washed only by hand. Cuisinart covers this pan with a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Meets Every Need July 20, 2010 swatram (washington, DC) I don't do as much cooking as I probably should, but I do rely heavily on the "bagged meals" put together by Trader Joe's and the like, that require some basic preparation. Much more than my old set, this pan heats quickly and evenly, helping solve some of the problems of uneven preparation that I have had to deal with in the past. The coating is durable and should withstand daily use (and some abuse!) for some time.
Cuisinart Chef Skillet / Best Skillet Ever! July 3, 2010 S.L. from Ky (Northern Kentucky) I've been cooking since childhood and and have used probably every type of skillet made but this is it, the BEST skillet I've ever owned. I use it for everything, literally. I use it to fry eggs, chicken or fix a roast in the oven. I just love it. The quality and workmanship is extraordinary. It is worth every penny and I'm thinking of buying a bunch for Christmas presents this year. The design is so easy to use and nothing sticks to it. Cannot say it enough, a wonderful product that I highly recommend.
A Great Bargain! June 26, 2010 cyk1 (VA, USA) We've used this skillet many times now, and I'm fully satisfied that we're getting our [...] bucks for it. (It was a little cheaper when we bought it.) It's much more lightweight than my Lodge cast iron of the same size; the lid that comes with this fits my cast iron also (which was a nice surprise!); it's easy to clean and not a single thing has burned in it, ever, despite being a relatively thin-bottomed pan; it fits into my sink completely so I can set it in my sink, run it to soak, and not have to dangle it upwards at a weird angle to scrub it; and lastly, the price was right. And getting more than you paid for is rare and important. I'd buy this one again (purchased directly through amazon with free shipping). (I've used it as a very small wok but I'm not tagging it for that because it's really not quite large enough to feed more than 2-3 people as such.)
Great Everyday Pan! May 16, 2010 Janet V. Martin (Danville, CA) Since receiving this pan, I have used it several times - with and without the lid. Every once in a while, I wish it had one long handle (like the more expensive, similar pan without a lid), but I do like having the lid as well. The size is great, and seems to cook everything from chicken and pork cutlets, to vegetables very well. I originally read about this pan on Cooks Illustrated after they had completed a review of saute pans, and they were right on!
Awesome pan April 29, 2010 L. Kane (Lakeville, MN USA) This is an awesome pan for everyday cooking. Does great for fried potatoes, pancakes, eggs etc. It is big enough to make a large one pan meal for a family.
