Great, super great with effort July 23, 2010 beercook This product is great for the price. Wonderful versatility. It doesn't have a "traditional" handle on either pan but I don't use or feel the the need to have one. 5 quarts is more than enough and the pan is more than fine. I do use a traditional stainless steel lid for the skillet but use the skillet for a lid with the pot all the time. Cast iron is so great, this is the only pot and pan I use. One must learn to cook with these, its a little different but works better and easier in the long run and cleaning is so easy.
Great pot - and that's no crock! July 22, 2010 Suzanne Blake (ARNOLD, CA, US)
This pot is perfect for cooking any number of dishes - from frying on the stove, baking in the oven or cooking on the barbecue. It is heavy, of the best quality and so good I'll have to designate its future recipent in my will.
Again I found I can trust Amazon that I won't be disappointed whrn I order something on line.
Another Great product by Lodge and Price by Amazon July 1, 2010 Love Lodge, Love Amazon prices... [...] for two pans and shipping included... can't beat that on American made cast iron pans.
We use our dutch-oven pots every day. I love Lodge pre-seasoned pots and pans best. See my other Lodge cast iron reviews for more details.
Lodge Logic 5Qt Double Dutch Oven May 17, 2010 Jill Kenyon (New England) Have cooked with cast iron before but in moving "lost" all my pieces. This really flavors the food well, has even heat, and was well seasoned upon arrival. My only wish was that there were longer handles or removable handles, as they get very hot and are awkward to use with hot mitts. Overall, though, it's exactly what I was looking for.
Cast iron goodness May 10, 2010 Bender This dutch oven gets used at least a couple times a week. Mostly use the lid as a skillet and the non-stick surface is unbelievable. I believe it also conserves energy slightly because I have to use lower heat than when I use aluminum cookware and I can turn it off sooner since it holds heat and continues to cook or warm the food for a short time. I use the dutch oven to cook small roasts in and fry potatoes and chicken. It is an awesome fryer, just throw a screen lid over top and your set to fry the best chicken you ever had.
