Great pan July 20, 2010 Donna Ditaranto (Apex NC) Have been an owner of Calphalon for years and this by far is the best non-stick pan I have ever used. Bought this as a gift for my daughter-in-love and she loves it. You need no or very little oil or butter in the pan. Nothing sticks and the pan heats very evenly. You can sear, fry or saute without any fear of food sticking or cooking unevenly.
Almost perfect! July 14, 2010 Nai This pan is simply amazing, it browns the food and won't stick to anything. Almost perfect because its surface is very delicate, a careless move and it scratches. I found that using a plastic turner could scratch it, but a bamboo one would not. Again, be careful with it and cooking and cleaning will be a lot more fun.
Non Stick peeled off May 28, 2010 rick (Westerly, RI, US) I have had this pan for approx. 43 days, and the non-stick surface is coming off. It has been used probably 20 times.
I use only plastic utensils and clean it with a nylon brush. It has never been used in the oven or with very high stovetop temps.. I have an older version of this pan, about 5 years old ,with less surface damage than the new one. I have always liked Calphalon, but am sceptical of buying more of their non-stick.
agree with other negative reviews May 12, 2010 D. Holt (Washington DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very excited about this pan because of the promise of the "slide" nonstick and the large cooking area. Unfortunately, I've used it twice with a wooden spoon (a Calphalon wooden spoon!) and the surface has scratches in it, fairly deep too. I've also noticed a discloration along the top edge of the pan. In addition, as one other reviewer noted, the bottom is not perfectly flat, a problem I have with the last Calphalon nonstick I bought. I think I am done with Calphalon.
not for glass top stoves April 26, 2010 Dupree1 (South Carolina) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bottom of pan is not perfectly flat so it is useless for
a glass stove top. It cooked beautifully the first
few times but the bottom became uneven very quickly.
No. I did not use high heat.
Probably OK for a gas stove but a definite NO for
electric smooth top.
