Product Description Make natural nutrition-packed sauerkraut and pickled vegetables with this stoneware crock pot from Germany! Through the years, sauerkraut has been recognized as one of the healthiest foods, and was even used on sailing ships to protect sailors from scurvy. Recently in the news, sauerkraut and pickled vegetables fermented the natural way with lactic acid fermentation are being credited with correcting bodily imbalances of intestinal flora, leading to problems including acid reflux for which doctors often prescribe harsh antibiotics. Natural lactic acid fermentation is one of the oldest and healthiest means of food preservation. It allows natural, beneficial bacteria to perform a fermentation process in which vegetables develop a pleasantly sour taste and remain rich in vitamins and minerals. Lactic acid fermentation is the only method of preservation that retains all the natural plant ingredients while improving the quality, taste and aroma. These beautifully crafted stoneware crock pots from Germany come complete with pot, lid, weighing stones, and instructions. To determine which size pot is best for you please look at the information in our FAQ section. Remember you can only fill a pot to 80% of its total capacity.

| Customer Reviews: Awesome! August 27, 2010 Ema 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm so happy to have splurged on this product! I just moved from the city onto my own farm and will be getting lots of use out of this fermentation pot with all my home-grown veggies! So, far I have made Kimchi just to give the fermentation pot a go, and was VERY happy with the results.
The pot is really superb in that you basically toss in your veggies and brine, put in the stones and leave it alone. Just be sure to keep the water groove filled and you have nothing else to do except wait.
I bought the 10 L pot since it was the same price as the 7.5L (and with free shipping). It is really large, but I'm happy I bought the larger size as I have more freedom to adjust the size of the batch of fermented veggies I am making.
The beautiful finish on this pot fits perfectly with my kitchen and everyone in the house loves the little gurgling water noise it makes when "working" -- very relaxing!
krautastic well worth the orice your oaying for good kraut April 22, 2010 Bridget M. Roque (lakeland, florida) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
well i learned that making homemade kraut is more full of the benifents it gives since i do suffer ibs that is very uncomfortable. i dont like taking the pills that help with this problem till i started making fermented foods of my own . i dont have acid reflux no more the bloated stomache is gone and no gas . my skin has improved since is stronger form of vitaman c pills . you can the protion your not going to use in the frezzer for up to three months and can for up almost a year . you can make as little as you need or a bunch for bbq parties . you can make korean kimchi also in it i love femented foods.. it a must buy. goes very well with small or big place because there is a sixe that fits for you to choose from . make sure you buy extra weight for some pickled foods ...
Pickle Crock February 22, 2010 Georgia Vallejos (Salt Lake City, Utah) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Quite expensive but well worth it if you like doing home pickling. I wouldn't suggest investing so much money if you haven't made kraut before. However, my kids love my homemade kraut, and can't even eat store-bought kraut anymore. Homemade kraut has a nice amber tint, and very flavorful. This crock sure beats using a food-safe plastic bucket, a dinner plate and a weight.
